In the year 1920, at the beginning of the Bauhaus era, Otto Hutt set up a successful company in Pforzheim, internationally renowned as the 'City of Gold'. The company specialized in the production of pocket utensils such as smoker's accessories, toothpicks and shaving sets in metal. It was not long before Hutt extended his range to include writing instruments. In 1995 the company changed its name to Etra Weber GmbH and grew into a quality-conscious manufacturer of exclusive writing instruments in high-quality silver. In this light, it was a logical decision to reintroduce a modified variation of these noble writing instruments in a new line which remains absolutely true to the ideals of Otto Hutt: weighty silver, immaculate craftsmanship, the best workmanship in every detail. All products of the Otto Hutt brand follow the Bauhaus's central principle – absolute simplicity of form and the fundamental notion that form follows function. Every single part, however small, is made in Germany.
